--- Comment #2 from Arnaud <[email protected]> ---
Hi,

for a full restauration on a new machine I always use
"affa --full-restore --preserve-newer=no --delete=yes JOB"

See ยง1.6 of the original doc of affa3:
http://affa.sourceforge.net/AffaPdfMan.pdf
"With option --preserve-newer=yes files on the remote server with modification
time newer than on the backup are not overwritten.
With option --delete=yes all files on the remote server, which are not in the
backup, are deleted"

The reason is: due to the new installation, some files are more recent on the
empty server than on the backup files => with only "--full-restore" affa won't
overwrite these files through older ones.

But by a migration from sme8 to sme9 we must pay attention to the files for
"yum" (= the parameters of the repos): "affa --full-restore --preserve-newer=no
--delete=yes JOB" will overwrite the repos for sme9 through the repos for sme8!
Therefore, before the restoration, the parameters for "yum sme9" must be copied
somewhere (outside from folders that will be restored) and copied back to the
original place after affa has restored the backup.

Bye
Arnaud
