Surely affa --full-restore <JOB> should do exactly that without further
interaction?

Nothing in the docs say that you CAN'T backup v8 /restore to v9 ..... and I
believe that probably set up the right way that you can. If so it may lower the
barrier for migrations. The reason I used it was I didn't have time for an 8
hour backup and 8 hour restore (and that is assuming the USB restore works
first time). Many people cannot afford that sort of down time.

Does it work restoring a v9 backup to a fresh v9 install without any extra
commands? As it stands I am not sure that it would without extra commands as
you have indicated.

I believe Terry is doing some testing on this to see what happens (cos he is
awesome at methodical testing)

Both should be done.

Rise is the stand out feature of affa. I have used it many times and it is
awesome.

But a restore should restore..... not leave the system in a broken state (and
my one is still not quite right yet as I still have DB issues)

I'd have a more of a look at this myself but have a mountain on at work and
have to travel in the couple of weeks.
