On signal-event email-update dovecot gets sigusr2 from adjust-service only
after
S86dovecot-compile-sieve, so for best results it needs to be run twice :))
I can confirm this behaviour on SME 9.3 too (but I can live with it)
Knowing this I'd say it makes more sense to add to POSTIN script:
expand-template /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf
service dovecot restart #or whatever it gets changed to in systemd
/usr/bin/sievec /usr/libexec/dovecot/sieve/
and remove
/etc/e-smith/events/actions/dovecot-compile-sieve
/etc/e-smith/events/email-update/S86dovecot-compile-sieve
