Hello All,
I am attempting to install Mandrake Linux on my beige G3 desktop box.
The installation from the CD starts off well, but when it gets to the
point that DrakX looks for scsi adapters, my computer freezes. I don't
know if this is relevant, but when I look at the kernel message for the
stage 1 install, a portion of it says:
<4> scsi : 0 hosts
<4> scsi : detected total
I have tried the installation using both kernel/stage 1 install pairs:
all-2.2.gz (2.2.19 kernel stage1) + vmlinux-2.2 (2.2.19 kernel)
all.gz (2.4.4 kernel stage1) + vmlinux (2.4.4 kernel)
Other potentially relevant information, my machine has both the original
ATA hard drive as well as a new scsi drive. I want to put Linux on the
scsi drive.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
