There should be a doc I wrote on the CD.  Yaboot is installed during the
installation, but on some (many) machines, you need to manually point Open
Firmware to the bootstrap, hence the message about: 

setenv boot-device hd:X,\\:tbxi

(X being your bootstrap partition)

You might also try 

setenv boot-device hd:X,\\yaboot

I'm sure I covered this in the installation doc, and Phil's FAQ, listed in
my .sig also covers it.

Oh Yes - to get into Open Firmware:

Command(Apple)-Control-O-F at powerup

And when you are done:
shut-down
