Hi,
I've got a G3/333 beige, an Oldworld Mac. I have some problems installing
Mandrake 8 PPC on an external 6Go SCSI hard drive. The installation crash in
two cases :
- juste before choosing the disk and patitionning it if I prepared before
the installation my external SCSI hard drive with pdisk
- after having choosen my external SCSI hard drive for the installation and
made automatically or manually my partitions and clicking to go further. In
this case, I've noticed that the installer made the partitions on the disk.
In my Mac is an SCSI PCI card. Its name is "Apple53C875Card", its model is
"NCR,875". I've read on a website that ther could have installation problem
with SCSI PCI cards.
I've recently installed Yellow Dog Linux, and everything goes without
problem. I've noticed that the YDL Installer tell me that my external SCSI
Hard Drive is "sdb" and the Mandrake installer tells me that the same drive
is sda. I'm asking if this PCI card does'nt purtub the installer ?
If someone can help me and tell me what is wrong, what I have to do...

Thanks to any help !
Stephane

Sorry for my bad english
