It did break everything the first iteration, but that was fixed. When you're pulling from a mirror you can't necessarily count on everything that needs to be together being there, so rather than --auto-select, I think I'd go at it selectively, and let urpmi tell you what else it thinks it needs. That way you won't be overwhelmed all at once. There are known issues with things not recognizing that glibc provides ld-linux.so.2. I've been just forcing that through, as the file does indeed exist. Other than that, I'd say go with 8.2 and install the updates folks are providing in unsupported.
