and now things are a lot better i can run drakconf and the only errors i have in .xsession-errors, i didn't write down.... i will check them later, but i think all that stuff is ok now.
i went to install the pppoe stuff and got the same error i was getting from urpmf. that i need libatm.so.1 which, according to the package description is in linuxlib-atm-devel or some such similar name. i have all 3 days listed as package source...
finally on the way to a useable system =D thanks for this. if there are stuff you want to see from my system, let me know...

I still see the xmessage error. What do you mean you "added" those binaries? Did you install the rpms? kab2kabc is part of the same kdelibs-common as kdeinit.
The "connection refused" by the X server is also an issue. This is a clean RC1 install?
I just did a clean 1 CD install. gtkdialogs again did not install, so drakfw just hangs. It's on the CD, and xtest used by the drak tools is required, yet it doesn't get installed.
