Again, you're confusing X and the desktop environment.  X alone isn't
much, a graphical display and possibly a mouse cursor. If you have that,
then XFree is working.  I don't understand what you mean by "startx
doesn't load". Either X runs, or you drop back to the console.

For the other, I need more information.  Look at ps output from a console,
look at .xsession-errors in the X user's home directory. It sounds like
some process is hanging, and it might well be drakfw, like I mentioned in
the last message.
