Hi, pixel: i'm sorry to send this to you, but apparently I cant send to the mailing list from my work address. Well, I've got exactly the same problem with Panoramix, same error message... Plus, the old install hangs on detecting the mouse type at the end of the install. No way to go to any other console to check error messages, everything is just stuck. Only sollution: a hard reset.
