Hi Pixel,
I tried it again, my experiences are at the bottom of your reply. I
inserted some comments into your reply as well.

That problem seems to be resolved now. However, when I run wget once
again it goes downloading another 11 MB and the problem is back.

Well, I'm still working with that root account enabled. I'm glad already
when I get an FTP server up. At least the machine is not connected to
the internet...
OK, I got a bit further today. I updated the mirror and recreated the
hdlist file. Then I started logging in and I got a bit further than
before. Before I got an error message before I even started to select
packages and indeed it was about hdlist.
Now I get the following messages:
package XCDROAST at line 1192 does not exist
package XCDROAST at line 2665 does not exist
Error ordering package list: loop in perequisite chain: aalib bash
readline info bash
An error occurred during setup "Install system" of the install.
You may retry....
Previous Retry Menu
Retry -> mount failed, resource busy...
There are actions between these messages, but I think you can already
dream them up yourself...
Many thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.
Jo
