I just scratched my machine a few hours ago and started installing again.
I of course thought.. Now I am gonna use that nice graphical
installed.. Everything looked great until I came to the DiskDrake part on where it
should show up.. I get this error message saying that my partitions overlap. Well they
sure as heck don't.. I just have 2 fat32 partitions on the first disk with windows
that I installed about 1 hour earlier and they work like a dream. So I press ok but
the installer but I can't go on.. it just showes that message in my face..
Ok so I boot to windows and make a new boot disk with the standard boot.img and it
boots up and works fine until it should detect my netcard wich it doesn't find (and
neither when I select it manually). So then I go on and the lilo part fucks up aswell
as there is STILL the problem with version mismatch.. kernel = 2.2.10 and modules =
2.2.11 (or was it the other way around).
So now I have installed a nice totally unbootable linux.
So I go and get myself a nice old debian 2.2.11 kernel with aic78xx compiled into it
and it boots.. but the problem is that there hasn't been generated a lilo.conf so now
I can't get any further as I have no clue on how my lilo.conf should look like on the
cooker (or any redhat/mandrake type install for that matter).. I guess it needs some
initrd= something...
Can anyone who reads this please email me their lilo.conf ASAP as i am stuck in
windows right now. :(
