Hi,

Just subscribed to the list, so I apologize if what I have to say is already reported. Either way, I hope it will be of help.

I tried full install from HD, cooker download is from sunsite.uio.no on Nov 2.

1. DrakX is toooo slow. If it cannot be improved forget about it. Also, the dialog selecting packages to install was a bit confusing, I wanted to choose a small set of packages, but it installed over 1500 MB of files (Don't think I am such a newbie, I've installed Linux at least 50 times before)

2. DiskDrake said my partition table was too corrupted, and insisted to wipe the partition table on my second disk. Luckily, I could switch to a text terminal and save it to a file in the last possible moment using dd. If someone wants to look into that, I can supply my MBRs.

3. The text install did not work at all. After I selected install from Hard disk, /dev/hda1 , /cooker brief message "loading secondary ..." and halted the system. Here is what I could see on the debug terminals:

tty3
found suggestion on Mach64         // correct
found suggestion on sonicvibes      // correct
    found nothing                                // ??
going to insmod raid0.o (path is NULL)    //??
going to insmod raid1.o (path is NULL)    //??
going to insmod raid1.o (path is NULL)    //??
going to insmod raid5.o (path is NULL)    //??
going to insmod raid5.o (path is NULL)    //??

tty4
    raid0 personality registered
    raid5 personality registered

tty2
    /tmp/raid1.o  a module named raid1  already exists
    /tmp/raid5.o  a module named raid5  already exists

BTW, RH6.1 boot.ini had similar problem that could be related but I did not write down the debug info. Hope this is enough
