OK here is the situation. The boot disks do not seem to work. I have
created them on a linux machine using:
        dd if=<image_file> of=/dev/fd0
It brings up the Mandrake screen and tells me to hit enter. It says:
        Loading cdrom.rdz....
then:
Boot failed: please change disks and press a key to continue.

It does this for the gi_cdrom.img and gi_hd.img images. The
gi_network.img gets past this point but I do not know how to get past
the server connection point (just my own lack of knowledge, I don't
really want to do a network install anyhow) so I do not know if it works
past that.

Unrelated question: Is there an archive that one could browse
previously posted questions?
