What hardware are you installing on (again :) ?

This kind of sounds like what i get with disks only on the HPT control 
(i forgot the address, and if you saw where this thing sits you wouldn't
want to pull it out either)

mount network.img /mnt/disk -o loop
cp /mnt/disk/boot.msg ~/
umount /mnt/disk
mount /mnt/floppy
mv ~/boot.msg /mnt/floppy
