yup verified the dates and d/l'd the hd.img from mandrake's main ftp.  re-wrote
adn still the same response.

h/w config:

Western Digital ~25 gb hdd (forget model number etc...one of the newer one tho'
and works w/o problems else where)

Creative Labs Annihilator Pro ddr (Nvidia Geforce Chip)(AGP) - fbserver on
other installs works fine as well.

need anything else?

btw: i tried to add a scsi adapter but it runs in an endless loop once the
adapter is found!  "Do you want to add one scsi adapter?" and then back to the
selection screen for scsi adapters.  Latest hd.img also had the same results as
the previous trys to execute it.  Even after replacing the "boot.msg" of
12.23.99.  Still nothing.  Network.img does work tho'.

Isn't it just suppose to bypass the blue input screen?  on redhat's, i do show
a selection of hda*.
