What mirrors list for cooker & contrib downloads? I have searched over
many web pages in vain for mention of it, many times. Always in vain.

I think you would be much better off using rsync than fmirror. Mandrake
often updates RPMs without changing the file name (rsync is not fooled).

Unfortunately, that site will not accept kfm as a browser.
