Hi, I am new to linux, but I downloaded iso image from ftp.free.fr and tried to
install it, hoping that this time my HPT366 will be supported...
I have Abit BE6 with Pentium III 500, 192MB
Ide0: Master CD-ROM 56X, Slave Memorex CDRW 1622
Ide1: Master 250 Iomega Zip, Slave None
Ide2 HPT366: Master Western Digital 30G, Slave None
Ide3 HPT366: Master Western Digital 8G, Slave None
IOMagic MagicVideo TNT2 M64
USB Mouse + Printer
I started installation by booting from CD. Installation hang ups on second stage. I
waited long enough (I went to have lunch) and installation were in second stage all
the time. I noticed that my mouse was detected successfully, so I pressed CTRL+Z after
long time interval. Installation continued but I had no hard drives detected, plus I
had infinite loop of "Do you have SCSI devices" (or something like that). I tried
different options, but all of them failed because my hard drives were not detected.
I hope somebody will be able to fix this bug, or provide solution around.
