You don't like it. Okay, your opinion. "It is not useful at all" is crap. E.g. I have set it to fullscreen as default, explicitly. And in logics one example is enough to prove a general claim like this as wrong. ;-) More seriously, it depends on your usage. I use mplayer mainly to watch movies and/or TV and for that fullscreen makes more sense. Btw, I don't mean to argue what the default should be. I don't care, because I will set my default like I want, as I always have until now. I just argue your overall broad statement that you don't back up with arguments at all. Benjamin.
