Hi,
well I must finally put in my own two cents worth ( and that is probably all
it will be worth). lets look at this logically,
A.) cooker. -- (that says it all really)
B.) Beta -- (once again enough said)
C.) now lets see if we are all on one page. on the mandrake site as well as
any other site pointing to cooker or beta, mandrake software It implicitly
states that you should use your own judgment about downloading and or
installing software ( under development).
If there are any more questions please re-read A thru C until all issues
have been resolved.
now for a more personal comment ( aimed at the cooker team).
I have been a beta tester since M$ ran their first beta on W$95 and as a
(very amateur) coder myself I think you guys have hopefully set the new
trend in the beta devel./ stabilization process. I have only been using
Linux for around 5 months and had no previous Unix exp. I tried several
distro's before settling on Mandrake, and it was the beta that decided me.
I keep a copy of the retail 7.0 installed and running on my primary machine
at home Up since the eve I bought the package(3mos) and use a couple of the
machines around the workbench to " play" with the cooker and the beta. I
haven't previously posted since I didn't know enough to Qualify and the
below referenced comments justify the position.
but I can say with assurance that I have read the cooker and watched the
trends and threads and the only thing wrong with the process is that most of
the postings lately are headed back to M$ way of thinking ( post the problem
then hold breath) USE THE PROSESS LIKE IT WAS INTENDED dig up some clues
about why or hey if you know a little code HACK IT then SHARE IT I mean we
are talking about OPEN SOURCE software development here. its just as much
our problem as their's
( knowwhatImeanVern!).
