pb: it depends of the way one uses its snd card. current fix has the advantage of working for quite some cards. i acknowledged the fact that some cards needs more subtle settings. but the project of generic good default settings for most cards we discussed about with some alsa developers had died (not enough feedback, noone interested in, ...) - if the sb live is the only one that needs such special settings, - and if muting "analog output jack" does not involve some people to not have sound, we may add some quirk for it in sound service. if you mail back your /etc/asound.state, i'll look at one more regexp to mute back the needed channel. but i really fear that doing this way may break other people configurations :-(. maybe we'll have to publish some kind of errata: "if you use a second pair of speakers, ..."
