Freebox is working fine on my home system with a realtek 8139 card..

BUT Freebox is known to have some problems on some configurations when you are
using badly configured P2P software and/or with ethernet autonegociation (well,
this one is mainly with 3Com card) . This is a bug in Freebox linux kernel, not
in Mdk kernel..

You should try to contact Free staff on proxad.free.adsl newsgroup.

More infos on that in unofficial Free FAQ : http://mon.adsl.chez.free.fr/

I think this bug should be closed on WONTFIX..
Movover, Free Telecom now longer exists : it is now called FREE SAS..

description:
I've a freebox (ADSL modem used in France by Freetelecom) connected to my
computer over ethernet (8139too). 5 to 10 minutes (generally) after the
connection (by dhcp), the modem freezes completely. The only way to make
internet work again is to unplug/replug its power supply (i do nothing on the
computer in itself). This problem didn't happen with Mdk 9.1 (i currently have
9.2 RC2). The weird thing is that i tried with another distribution (Debian
Sid), with a hand-made kernel (2.4.22 marcelo kernel) and it worked. I compiled
the same kernel under Mdk 9.2 RC2 with the same .config and it doesn't work.
Same problem. It makes the modem freeze. I don't know what to think/what to do.
Though it is a big problem as i heavily use ssh when i am away (and i have no
way to restart the modem in this case). Thank you very much for solving this
problem before 9.2 comes out.
