"I am glad to know it is not just me !!! However it strikes me that the

taken completely for granted. It is a sad thing that Linux still does
not
support wheel mice as an input medium. - There rant over !"
It's you, not me, who wrote this...
A: Linux itself has nothing to do with wheels...
B: X & console applications do have something to do with wheels, tracks,
and "sticks" (IBM mice)
C: "It is a sad thing that Linux still does not support wheel mice as an
input medium". If you can't use the wheel by some reason (broken
drivers, bad configuration, lack of support) this is not a reason for
writing such statements. If your mouse doesn't work this does not mean
"wheel mice don't work". My wheel mouse and two others work perfectly on
Linux. Yes, there are a few IBM mice that don't work 'round here. But I
don't make generalizations like you. You got a problem and came here
generalizing it. The typical "linux suxx" wave...
D: Are you offended for my interpretation? So why you are "so glad" that
"Linux still does not support wheel mice" while these "most rudimentary
input devices and on Window$ PC's is taken completely for
granted"???????? For me this is the typical "Rulez vs. suxx" stuff... So
I dare to interpret your statements the way I did. We are not doing
battles here. We are building a Linux distro. Nothing else.

As I told you. You came here and started generalizing "wheel mice don't
work"... Some work others no. Weigh your statements please.

Damn! "man imwheel" or you can't read???

Cool, as I told you: "The fact that your Logitech mouse doesn't work
does not mean
that everything else doesn't work"
Btw: It seems that I have nearby two Logitech wheel mice (PS/2 & USB)...
In a day I'll tell you if they work or not.

Strange. Once I had serious problems with my Voodoo3 (hanged after a
peculiar sequence of interrupt calls) and things were solved in two
days... One colleague also wrote them about a bug and things got fit in
a few hours... They seem prompt on answering.
