OK. It's gone midnight here, and I may not reply when the sympa confirm
comes through and I can reflect on what I have said below, but your e-mail bit
me.
First - How dare you put words like "everything else doesn't work & Linux suxx
dirty" into my mouth. I did not say that, I have never said that and I probably
never will. It's that kind of crap that gets Linux and Linux users a bad name.
Secondly - I didn't start this line of mails. I have mentioned this before,
and decided to mention it again when I saw others still experiencing this type
of problem. So, I had a bit of a rant. But I admitted such in the mail. Maybe I
should have put a :-) after the rant ?
Thirdly - It is hardly constructive to say that it works on your box. Well,
bully for you. Hoozah ! It works on Ektanoor's box everybody !
Forth - I started using wheel mice a long time ago (yeah you got it -> #:F,
whatever the F that means) so I can say how things stand for 'old' versions. But
since Mandrake 6 I have made loads of cooker upgrades and the Logitech wheel
mouse has never worked for me. And it appears that I am not alone ! I also
understand that "Microsoft (yuks!)" mice have a lot of success in this area,
but not apparently Logitech.
Fifth - I said at the end of the message that this is probably an XFree86.org
problem, and so it probably is. But these are busy people. All I am looking for
is different avenues to try. If you like I will forward the 20 or so mails I
have kept, each with its own set of different things to try. And that is just
since April this year !
