This seems true to me too, new comers have smaller voice here. So what I
learned to do now is to keep any patches or suggestions to myself, only
put it on this list if it's absolutely necessary. Shouting too loud isn't
nice at all :(
Packages start to be frozen, so currently it can be difficult to
incorporate anything, other than large bug fixes or perhaps fixing those
problems many people faces. Maybe wait till next devel cycle starts :)
