sorry, should have been clearer... I updated to the Cooker alpha code.
The point of the post is, why would it work as an update to 8.0 from the
iso's, but NOT work if clean installed as part of a cooker installation?
Also, don't know what I installed after it - but it's broken again, with
the same symptoms - spawns lots of processes, and hangs at the
"starting interprocess communications" thingy.
