I know you have a sense of humor, based on this quote:
"If you've ever had a chance to visit Mercury or asteroid Geographos,
here you'll find them looking exactly the same way, following exactly

I know it's tough to keep. Is there a web page where the reasons for
not keeping up with the latest patch are explained? Then you could just
refer someone to that page, like:
"We (often, sometimes) intentionally don't put the latest releases
(patches?) into cooker -- the reasons are discussed on http://.... If
you are able, see if you can help deal with the concerns listed on that
page (directly to Mandrake, or more likely, by helping the kernel
development projects). Thanks for your interest in Mandrake -- we
appreciate having you as a user."
Keep a punching bag near your computer to use as required, before or
after (or both) sending an email like this.
