If you're referring to the software suspend patch: That's a possible solution, but certainly no a one for newbies which just presses one of the suspend buttons using the 'Fn' keys. I don't know if there is a possibility to prevent calling Bios functions using the Fn keys through the kernel. On my laptop with the current stable kernel (i.e. not a 2.4.18 pre-patch) suspend works with a hibernation partition but wake up results in a reboot. Suspend to RAM sometimes works but wake up leads to solid lock-ups (did not try to catch oopses or traces) (I have a Sony Vaio FX-301). On another Laptop Suspend to RAM works fine with Mandrake 7.2 Regards, Reinhard -- Software-Engineer, Developer for Embedded Devices Project: Pertergrin, a role playing game system GnuPG Public Key available on request
