Unfortunately, the situation is so bad now with the kernel, if the power plug becomes unplugged at any time and the my Dell Inspiron 8000 goes on battery power, I get a complete freeze. How many UP boxes must have APIC enabled? So far, Mandrake had been one of the best at installing on laptops out of the box, but with APIC they may now become one of the worst. There are lots of things I can route around but this problem is pretty severe. Maybe it is time to consider a standard mdk laptop kernel. > > Without samples and some tech info from the > manufacturer, our chances of > making notebooks work out of the box aren't as good > as they could be > otherwise, > > Civileme > > > > > > > > __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
