What exactly do you mean ? How can I help ? After all, I have two offending 
laptops !!

As I said in an ealier posting I've gone all the way back to Mandrake 6.0 and 
it still behaves the same. I dont' know when APIC came in ? Stopping APMD 
from starting at boot seems to move the Kernel NULL pointer to "swapper".
