-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I see I'm a bit late to this debate but I'm going to throw my two cents on the fire. The LAST thing Mandrake needs to do is become another Debian based distribution. urpmi and rpmdrake already work great. They aren't perfect but neither is apt-get. I'm sure if they(the Mandrake developers) tried to graft apt-get on top of an rpm-based distro there would be some major problems simply because of the difference in databases. Other than apt-get are there other compelling reasons for Mandrake to become a Debian based distro? I don't think so. If it ain't broke, don't fix it and Mandrake as it stands right now is far from broken. Sure it has a few glitches here and there but overall it's about as solid as solid gets. Let's just leave well enough alone and let Debian be the slow moving distro that is creating a new BSD-based distro.
