You are talking about supposed "power users", not people who bought boxes
and who want things in the box to run at install.. 

If these "power users" install cooker packages on stable distro (8.2),
they are on their own, I (and MandrakeSoft) don't provide support for
them.. 

I have the impression of being in a elementary school with every kid
crying to get the latest new toy.. I won't put Mozilla 0.9.9 in 8.2. This
point is not open to discussion.. If people want to live on the bleeding
edge, they should run cooker but then, they should only rely on their own
and on the cooker community for support..
