As it looks like it does use alternatives now:

%changelog

- use update-alternatives.
- use %%serverbuild.

But it also provides smtpdaemon and IMHO it is wrong. Ssmtp is _not_ a
daemon and cannot be used as replacement for sendmail or postfix if
daemon functionality is required.
