I've something running here at the moment, rebuilding alpha + i586 and
uploading the alpha packages it builds. I'll be happy to set it up
for mdk.

Do we have a way to automate rebuilding? Reliably?

I have it running on my systems for a while now. There are still some
events that happen occaisionally which require human intervention, but
these have been identified and I think they can be fixed. All the alpha
packages being uploaded are done with the automatic rebuilding and
uploading scripts.

Hm would you mind sharing?
the scripts (a bit dated) have been hiding on my webserver for a while... See: http://eijk.homelinux.org/~stefan/slbd.html

I need to update the webpage, and I'll move it over to sourceforge, I guess more people could benefit from it and probably make it much better (my programming sucks).

Honestly I would not mind starting up project athlon again and already have have space to support it and for others to download. Who knows maybe even we can someday get to the point were at least the kernel is for the arch it's running on.

The kernel is a pain. I'm still running 2.4.19-1mdk on my alpha...

Another comment for the others not you Stefan. If it is so hard to do all this how come ark linux run by maybe one or two guys can (bero for sure who started mandrake on the i586 builds) have builds for i586, i686, athlon, pentium3, and pentium4. Admittedly they are all x86 but they still have builds for all those and they are very few.

please comment...

Stefan
