Did you put cold water in it after the hot?
Usually, you add the boiling water first, then add cold water.
Did you drain the fruits?

Hi,
I made a jello mold because my son likes it; I used two packages of jello,
and boiled four cups of water!
I frained two cans of mandarin oranges and one can of crushed pineapple.
After boiling the jello, I added a container of Cool Whip and marshmallows
and then poured my jello mixture into it!
It's not setting, like I think it should; it's still somewhat watery,
instead of thickened.
What can I do differently, to get it to set faster next time?
