Hi Patricia,
The piece that separates the brownies looks like those old fashioned
metal ice trays. This is put in the pan after the batter is filled.
Since it is placed in the pan before baking the pieces are uniform when done.
it's funny when I got it my sighted daughter swore she wouldn't use
such a stupid pan. I have caught her doing so at least three times.
