For this recipe I can think of several good cracker options. The first thing that springs to mind is a butter cracker like Ritz, Town House, or Club crackers. Triskits would also work, as would Carr's Table Water crackers. But if you want a slightly exotic option go to your local natural grocery and get a package or two of Ak-Mak crackers. These are Israeli sesame crackers, and their flavor will go with the crab ball in interesting ways.
I'd shy away from normal saltines, as those are just too flat a flavor for this dip -- it needs a partner, a sidekick, to bring out its flavor. For the same reason I'd probably avoid pita chips or toasted pita wedges. Finally, for an interesting idea, try Chicken in a Biscuit crackers. These are one of my favorite crackers, and their chicken flavor would do interesting things to the crab. Not a taste for everyone, though. _______________________________________________ Cookinginthedark mailing list [email protected] http://acbradio.org/mailman/listinfo/cookinginthedark
