Mounds bars are dark chocolate. That's one thing that differentiates them
from Almond Joys.

Hi everyone,
Aren't mounds candy bars covered in a semisweet or dark chocolate? I seem
to
remember that almond joy is milk chocolate. If I wanted to make these
using
dark chocolate, what and how much should I use?
thanks for any suggestions,
Nancy Martin

This recipe doesn't give what temperature to preheat the oven to. I'm
going
to assume it would be 350 or 375 degrees. What do you think?
Mounds Bars
For Crust:
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
For Filling:
1 can sweetened condensed milk
7 ounces coconut
1 package milk chocolate chips
Directions: Spread crust mixture into bottom of a 9 by 13 inch baking
dish.
Bake for twelve minutes. Mix milk with coconut and spread on top of crust.
Return to oven and bake for another twelve minutes. Immediately sprinkle
chocolate chips over top and spread out smooth when chips are melted.
Cool,
then cut into squares.
