The absolute easiest crockpot meal to make uses beef. Buy a 3-pound chuck
roast as well as 2 pounds of red potatoes and a 2-pound bag of baby carrots;
also pick up a Maui onion and either some McCormack pot-roast seasoning or
an envelope of onion-soup mix. Wash the carrots and potatoes; no peeling
necessary. Place the potatoes and sliced onion in the bottom of the
crockpot. Then add in carrots. Season your meat with salt, pepper, garlic,
rosemary and thyme if you have those. Place into the crok on top of the
vegetables. Pour in a little red wine, beef broth or water that has a small
amount of vinegar added in. This will help to tenderize your meat. Then
spread the onion soup mix or McCormack season over all. Place the crok on
low for six to eight hours or on high from four to six hours. Don't lift
the lid till the beef is done. Easy and tasty.
You can also season a chicken aftr washing it inside and out and patting it
dry. Fill the cavity with a large onion and a large apple after seasoning
with salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, rosemary, tyyme, and a little sage if
you have any. Place in the crock with a little white wine, or chicken
broth, and cook for about six hours on low or 3 to 4 hours on high.

Subject: [CnD] Something easy
Hi there,
I hope I can get some assistance. I need a recipe for something easy yet
good that I could make in the crock pot. I'm having company in a few days
and need to prepare a meal for dinner but have limited cooking experience.
It would have to be either chicken or pork. I can get some ingredients for
sure. I suppose I could also do something simple in the oven if that
would
be just as easy.
So, anything quick and easy would be great for this novice.
Thanks!
Will
