Another way to get action on the CoCo website is by tracking the
conversations that are happening other places.
Because this is the thing with Social Media that almost everybody has
their own blog, and then other people comment on them so that
conversations are all over the place.
When it comes to contributing to this group, I tend to report on
things that I think relevant, but I also do a lot outside that is
somewhat connected, could be of interest and could create good
conversations here, except there is today no easy way to connect the
dots.

I mentioned it earlier, but there is a tool that we may want to
consider if we are interested, for ourselves and for others trying to
get info from the site:
I have been working for some time with eCairn (www.ecairn.com), a
service that allows you to track blogs collectively. What it is really
is a Blogosphere Relationship Management tool.
So we could all add the list of blogs that we track that are relevant
to Online Cooperation, and then we can also use the tool to track the
blogs as well as comments we do on these blogs, or share notes
regarding them - including sharing with the rest of the world, through
RSS.
For example the RSS feed for all the blogs where I have commented is
at:
http://conversation.ecairn.com/post/feed?key=Qf4X4Cxiw392Ri6oWewwulHfA4H6E9Nn&title=Get+the+filter%27s+RSS+feed&with_filter=49

The beauty with this is that the conversations can keep happening
wherever they do, but there is a way now to federate this content into
a widget on the Coco website: that same feed above is used to generate
a widgetbox widget that I have now on my blog, so that visitors can
read my content on the blog but also wherever it is in the comments of
other blogs. A similar feed of where the Cocos are talking could be
displayed on the Coco site, so that even if there is no post on the
blog, there is fresh content from the group every day.

In addition to tracking blogs and comments, the tool also gives you
info regarding who the blogger is, and what social network he/she
subscribe to, so that you can not only comment on posts, but you can
also directly contact the blogger when the info is available.

Once you get used to it, the tool is actually extremely powerful, and
should be a must-have for any brand out there, and anybody trying to
monitor and establish some level of influence in one area or another.

I have invited Robert to take a look at the service for a Cooperation
Commons project, I am happy to invite others in this group to take a
look at the project, so that we can discuss the value of the tool for
the group and in general. Feel free to contact me at marc at dangeard
dot com if you would like to give it a try...
