Hi Thomas,

Which X11 are you using? You should probably be using XQuartz, rather than
Apple’s implementation (which is no longer supported).

Also, the CCP4 install of coot works well, is this what you are using?

NB: I’m running OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) with seemingly no issues.

With regards,

Antony.

Hello All,

I just upgraded my Mac to 10.9. I have tried both the stable version of coot
0.7.1 and also a daily build of 0.8 and still have the same problem of no

load "tips-gui.scm"
load "check-for-updates.scm"
load "jligand-gui.scm"
load "get-recent-pdbe.scm"
load "extensions.scm"
load "shelx-extensions.scm"

Any ideas as to what I maybe missing are welcome.

Dear Len,

I understand that crystallography is tricky on 10.9.

At a guess, X11 has not been started before you try to run coot. So give that
a go? Maybe something to do with the version/distribution of X11 you are
running?

One day we will make a native (non-X11) version of Coot, so this problem will
go away. But not today.

Paul.
