Hemanth Yamijala commented on HADOOP-3578:
------------------------------------------
bq. The names of the job directories start with job_. hadoop dfs -rmr job_*
would remove them, right ? I tried it on my directories, and wild card removal
of directories seems to be working. So, I am assuming it will work even for the
mapred system directories children.
Sorry, I take that back. It probably worked because it is my directories. I
don't think dfs -rmr job_* will delete directories not owned by me, if there
are no execute permissions on the parent.
> mapred.system.dir should be accessible only to hadoop daemons

> Currently the jobclient accesses the {{mapred.system.dir}} to add job
> details. Hence the {{mapred.system.dir}} has the permissions of
> {{rwx-wx-wx}}. This could be a security loophole where the job files might
> get overwritten/tampered after the job submission.
