I'm sorry that you had trouble with your patches. I didn't know about

Idealistic goals aside, one can get their code maintained for free! I
think there is also great value in working together. One gets a code
review for free. Which is, IMHO, one third of the development costs.

I can't say what was going wrong with Picasso. I turned my back on it
after the very first commit scared me away, so I really missed the last
half year. Maybe the grief came because complaints were ignored? maybe
not? Not a single mail passed the mailing list, how are people supposed
to know?

Sad to hear that. Especially because I seem to have triggered it.
Believe me, when I tried to discuss the binary situation, I had no
idea about the feelings that already piled up on Gerrit (or in
private conversations, what do I know).
