“Robb” sounds a very likely rendering

This would tie in with sentiments expressed to me many years ago by my own pal,
Leslie Robb, of Geneva, Switzerland – a smart geography teacher and enthusiast,
Belfast-born and a man with very strong co. Tyrone Robb and Patterson
connections!

My guess the person was having a hard time reading someone's handwriting when
they did this record. My guess they meant James Robb of Rakelly who is in the
Griffiths.  See:

http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml?action=doNameSearch
<http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml?action=doNameSearch&PlaceID=1312239&county=Tyrone&barony=Strabane,%20lower&parish=Ardstraw&townland=>

&PlaceID=1312239&county=Tyrone&barony=Strabane,%20lower&parish=Ardstraw&townland=<b>Rakelly</b>

I am certain about the record you have reading Roll and the townland in
question being Rakelly near Newtownstewart.

Hi Russell,

It's Patk. And it's short for Patrick Kelly. Can't work out the other name,
it looks like it starts with another P, which would make it James Poll, but
I have never heard of a surname like Poll.

I'm sure somebody else will know.
