The trim tab on my 415D is on the left side panel even with the wheel. It is not extremely sensitive but works very well for me. I move mine about halfway from takeoff/land position for cruise and the back pressure on the wheel is gone. It takes about a half to one inche for correct trim .
Seems very well situated to me and just the right balance of sloppy/sensitive to make it effective without having to look at it.
