I was taught you want to end up during climb at about 100 deg F rich of
peak
during full power climb so the engine won't overheat.  Once level at
cruise
then lean a little more to mabe 50 rich to as much as 25 rich.  This means
initially you need to know your approximate peak for the typical seasonal
OAT and altitude.

Not all carbs have the econimizer.  For example my C-90-12F in my 61
Forney
does not.  It took some doing to even tell.  You have to look at the parts
list for the particular part number of carb.  The pictures are general in
nature and show parts breakdown for a number of carbs covered by the book.
