----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Hello all
Chris Leong, Sherman Oaks CA here. I'm researching into a plane I'm about to buy, a 415C with the C85 conversion already done. It's serial 2376. I've been reading up on the web as regards the conversion from C to D, which is apparently allowable under the Type Cert A-787. Does this mean a straight swapout of those parts that are different between a C and a D, specifically the nine-degree restrictor bolt (or the type E split elevator, to be a "like type"), or is there more involved? How does one specifically go about doing the conversion to get the difference in gross allowance? Also, I've been searching high and low for contact details on Skyport services. Lots of folk mention using this company, but I can't find their address or telephone number anywhere. Are they still around? Lastly, I've noticed that the bubble windscreen on some local Coupes, apart from increasing visibility, appear to make the craft a cleaner one in that the nuts and bolts that held the regular (straight) windscreens on seem to be flush into the surface rather than sticking out. True, or is that just because the owners just installed countersunk bolts to get their planes cleaner? (I'm in the process of joining the EOC and probably a lot of the info I'm after will arrive sometime in the mail, but email's much faster, don't you think? :-) Thanks, all. Great newsgroup. Keep it up!
