I replaced the donuts in my 415C with the Belleville springs because I got
tired of replacing the rubber donuts every annual (they compress) I MUCH
prefer the springs, I suggest you keep them. I do have a metal spacer on
each main gear to raise the tail to 75" and it handles much better (I have
the double fork which raises the nose)

So my suggestion is to leave the springs and add a spacer to get 75"

I also added the rubber cup to the o-rings on the main strut to keep the
fluid in. When you use both you have to use Silicon Brake Fluid
(available
at high performance auto parts stores) since it will not attack either the
rubber cup or the O ring. I did all this about 8 years ago and have had
no
problems with the main gear since.
