Jim, This noise/looseness suggests loose rivets in the outer main spar. There was an Service Bulletin, April, 1950, on this or so...and most coupes have been repaired long ago... Bulletin 58 (April, 1950), 58A ( Feb 12, 1953. both address the checking and replacement of these rivets. Have it fixed......
