According to Ercoupe Service Memorandum No. 35:
   "Tension on the elevator cables should be 160 lb/sq.in. - 190 lb/sq.in.
as measured on a
tensiometer."
The key to the above statement is "square inch."  This is far different
from
160 to 190 lbs of tension.
